Meghan Markle keen on home birth just like the Queen

The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle is quickly coming off as one to avoid traditions and rather opt for her more modern ways. Pregnant with her first child, Meghan Markle is said to be quite keen on having an intimate home birth rather than at a hospital. The 37 year old is keen to follow in the Queen's step, who gave birth to each of her four children at either Buckingham Palace or Clarence House.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have moved into Frogmore Cottage and are set to welcome their first child in Spring 2019, ruled out the option of using the private Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, where the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton gave birth to each of her three children, as it felt too much of a 'goldfish bowl'.

It is also said that Meghan was not keen on the idea of standing on the steps of the maternity wing hours after giving birth and bringing her child in the media and public eye, especially when her child will not be direct in line of succession to the throne. It was also said last week that Meghan did not want any involvement from the Queen's team of doctors, including the best gynecologists, but the Queen did not agree to the snub and her team will be present for birth, though it is not said how much of an involvement would they have.

Meghan Markle has sailed like a breeze through her pregnancy and is an avid yoga practitioner, and if she opts for a home birth it could surely be a safe and private option. Though the royal couple has not ruled out a hospital birth considering women over 35 are at risk of premature birth, but if all goes as per plan Meghan could have an easy home birth with the help of a mid wife.

The Duchess of Sussex could also have the option to give birth without any pain relief at all, while on the other hand can also opt for gas and air, a warm bath, a birth pool, TENS (a machine that uses small, electrical impulses to reduce pain and muscle spasms) or relaxation techniques such as hypnobirthing.Meghan is also a fan of alternative therapies and may opt for any of those for her home birth plans.
